  BONABOTO MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT RETAIN SEATS

(Accra, Dec. 10, 2004)

All four sitting MPs from the BONABOTO area successfully retained their seats following the Presidential and Parliamentary elections held on Tuesday December 7, 2004. They are Hon. David Apasera for Bolga constituency, Hon. Albert Abongo for Bongo constituency, Hon. Moses Asaga for Nabdam constituency and Hon. John Tia for Talensi constituency. According to results released by the Electoral Commission (EC), Hon. Apasera who stood on the ticket of the PNC, polled 18,948 votes to beat Mr. Agambilla (NPP) and Mr. Opam-Brown (NDC) who polled 11,547 and 16,743 votes respectively.

Hon. Albert Abongo (NDC) on his part polled 17,397 votes to beat his main challenger Mr. Andrews Awuni (NPP) who got 10,311. The Nabdam constituency returned Hon. Moses Asaga (NDC) to Parliament with a total vote of 6,350 whilst giving his political rival Mr. Boniface Agambilla of the NPP 3,227 votes. Talensi constituency witnessed a much fiercer battle but Hon. John Tia emerged victorious with 8,346 votes. His challengers: Robert Mosore (who stood as an Independent candidate) and Madam Khaldi (aka Bolco) of NPP, could only amass 4,582 and 5,354 votes respectively. (BONABOTO Correspondent: Bolga)
